Who Are the True Children of Israel?

3 Oct

Why is this poem on this blog?

Judaism is full of myth.

This particular relgious mythology has been promoted by Asiatic, Indo-European, and European people.

Also, people of African descent have also promoted Judaism’s mythology.

Believe what you will, but if you dip this religious mythology in chocolate (i.e., make them Black Jews), it still doesn’t mean you can confirm any events or the existence of the biblical patriarchs.

Again, believe what you will.

Proving it is another mattter.

Did you know that there are a good number of Black Jews out there?

They are not a common as Black Christians or Black Muslims, but they are out there.

As of the writing of this piece, among the many Black Hebrew Israelite (BHI) denominations, three of the best-known are as follows: the Commandment Keepers Ethiopian Hebrew Congregation of the Living God Pillar & Ground of Truth, Inc.; the Church of God and Saints of Christ; and the Israelite Church of God in Jesus Christ (ICGJC).

NOTICE: I will pose some questions to adherents of the three organizations that they may find uncomfortable. As I’ve have always said and will continue to say, believe what you will as long as it makes you a better person and your beliefs make you productive rather than destructive. My goal here is to provoke critical thinking and analysis of the subjects at hand. I just want people to know about things that affect their community.

This poem is written in a style that I call Triple Rhyme Time. In this style of poetry, I present information on three subjects/groups and the rhyme scheme is different from traditional rhyme schemes as every three lines rhyme instead of every two lines.

I hope that you find this information enlightening.

The Commandment Keepers were a large, Black Jewish congregation in Harlem.

It surprises me how many people have never heard of them.

They believe that through King Solomon and Queen Sheba they are the descendants of Shem.

Rabbi Wentworth Arthur Matthew was born in Nigeria and he established the Israelite Rabbinical Academy.

He ordained more than 20 rabbis who led congregations in the U.S. and various islands located to our south in the Caribbean Sea.

He taught that the original Jews were all Black but the Ashkenazim deserved credit as they kept traditions alive while Blacks were taken into slavery.

Rabbi Matthew was a supporter of Marcus Garvey’s UNIA (Universal Negro Improvement Association) and the vision of a Black Utopia.

The Commandment Keepers added to the UNIA program and strengthened ties between Blacks in America and Africa – particularly Beta Israel in Ethiopia.

The spiritual, economic, and political mixture had the potential to be quite a cornucopia.

The rites and practices are in line with the Sephardi style of Judaism such as the way they conduct services on the Sabbath and the use of the De Sola Pool Spanish and Portuguese Prayer Book.

To have seen these Black Jews walking into their synagogue at 1 West 123rd Street would have caused most to take a surprised second look.

Like the namesake of Robert Frost’s poem, “The Road Less Traveled” was the path that this congregation took.

Prophet William Saunders Crowdy started the Church of God and Saints of Christ in Lawrence, Kansas in 1896.

Their doctrine borrows from both Old Testament and New Testament rituals that makes for a unique mix.

They are well-organized and active in their respective communities so their legacy sticks.

They are the oldest BHI in the world but don’t get a lot of press.

Maybe it is because they silently do community service work and only on the Sabbath do they have a distinguishable style of dress.

They teach that the original Hebrews of the Bible were Black, but the brotherhood of all men is something that they also profess.

Their a capella style of singing is enjoyable and will get your hands clapping and your feet moving.

You’ll be prancing and swaying to the harmony as their sweet hymns are so soothing.

It is so enjoyable you’ll think that you’re in a dance club grooving.

The Israelite Church of God in Jesus Christ is a little different from the other two.

They believe that Jesus is the Messiah and that he is coming back to gather his people, but he comes like a thief in the night so as for an exact time we haven’t a clue.

However if you are not of the Twelve Tribes he is NOT a savior for you.

Tazadaqyah is the current leader of the organization and he is called The Comforter by those who believe in what he is teaching.

Their church doesn’t have an open-door policy so unless you’re invited you’ll have to go to his website to hear him preaching.

He is charismatic, street-smart, and a good speaker so among inner-city dwellers his message is wide-reaching.

In their theology, Blacks are the chosen people and that White people and those who disbelieve in his teachings will all burn in Hell.

White Jews are impostors and they have no right to be in the Holy Land in which they currently dwell.

He proclaims that Deuteronomy, Chapter 28 lets you know who the true Israelites are so do not go for the lies or fall under the spell.

I have a total of 12 questions for all three groups.

There pretty straight-forward and require no jumping through hoops.

They’re just questions to which you may have answers so there is no need to rally your troops.

  1. How is it that a nomadic people with no history of architecture built large pyramids in Egypt which is a feat that even today we cannot duplicate?
  2. Why are you not focused on the overall upliftment of all African people and instead preach hate?
  3. What was the name of the pharaoh that took the Israelites into bondage and what was the exact date?
  4. How can you say that African-Americans are from the tribe of Judah and the Tribe of Issachar are modern-day Mexicans?
  5. In my archeological research I couldn’t locate any grave sites for the Hebrew patriarchs so may I please borrow your lens?
  6. Do you understand that you must have an multi-faceted, revolutionary plan must be based on liberty and equality if you’re going to be considered the new Black Jacobins?
  7. How is it that Zondervan’s Compact Bible Dictionary says that Ham is the father of the Black race, but not of the “Negroes?”
  8. Has not science proven that ALL humanity sprung from the great lakes region of Africa from whence the Nile River flows?
  9. Is there any scientific evidence to support your claim of a separate, unique, dark-skinned Israelite race, or are we being fitted for The Emperor’s New Clothes?
  10. Do you have a plan for Black economic development like Claud Anderson’s Powernomics or Amos Wilson’s Blueprint for Black Power?
  11. Or will we have to engage in illegal activities that will cause us to end-up in Attica or Folsom while the hacks watch over us from the watchtower?
  12. After reading this, can we please remain civil and not have any hard feelings or become sour?

Believe what you will as long as it makes you a better person is fair as far as I can tell.

Some actually believe that Joshua marched around the city of Jericho and it’s walls crumbled and fell.

I still have a question: Who are the True Children of Israel?

Shiny, New Pair of Dimes

25 Sep

Some people like Davey Crockett and Abraham Lincoln are looked-up to with saintly reverance.

Perhaps we should remember that they had agendas and and are not as pristine as they have portrayed.

I’m a student of history and I’m going to explore three connected events in U.S. history: The Mexican-American War; militant abolitionist movements (Bleeding Kansas and Harpers Ferry); and the U.S. Civil War.

This poem introduces a new style where I present three events, people, or opinions. Also, every three lines rhyme instead of every two lines. I’m calling this style Triple Rhyme Poetry. So consider this a Triple Rhyme Time Poem.

Also, for your enjoyment, movie titles and book titles or hyperlinked to their respective pages on IDMB.com or Amazon.com.

Please let me know what you think.

Shiny, new pair of dimes is about changing old, dirty paradigms with new, thought-provoking paradigms.

I’m going to drop some history on you and you’ll notice that every three lines will be patterned in rhymes.

I’ll present historical events in this poem that is need-to-know information because these are changing times.

New paradigms are necessary because we have to rethink how we think about and do things.

Critical thinking and analysis is so comforting because of the clarity it brings.

I’m just a truth-seeker that shares facts as truth gives you power like you were a Lord of the Rings.

In this poem I’ll present three events in United States history.

To many, the behind-the-scenes stories remain a mystery.

Light will be shed on the dark shadows so put on your thinking caps and listen to me.

The Mexican-American War (April 25, 1846 – February 2, 1848) was a warm-up for the future generals in the U.S. Civil War, you know.

Things go so much deeper than screaming, “Remember the Alamo!”

We’ll first talk about a few facts of Mexican-controlled Texas so here we go.

Texas was owned by Mexico, but U.S. settlers were welcome to live there, but after 1830 slavery was not allowed.

The problem was slave-holders and slave-traders settled in Texas and became quite a noisy crowd.

Sometimes slaves would escape south of the border to live free and enjoy all of the natural rights that human beings are endowed.

Slave hunters would try to recapture them but the Mexicans would not turn them over so they could become enslaved again.

This really pissed-off slavers and they had feelings of chagrin.

Fighting broke out against the Mexican government and eventually Davy Crockett and other rebellious Texans were slain by Santa Anna’s men.

This was pretty much the event that sparked the Mexican-American War when afterwards the U.S. added Texas to the union as slave-holding state and also acquired the Mexican Cession [Sidebar — The Mexican Cession of 1948 added California, Utah, Nevada, most of Arizona, half of New Mexico, less than half of Colorado and less than half of the southwest of Wyoming.]

Hmmm… I wonder why when I was in school I did not get this history lesson?

That was a facetious question as I know that they were passed over in place of just more Lies My Teacher Told Me so there is no need for stressin’.

Kansas was bleeding from 1854 to 1861 as the idea of it entering the union as a free state was met with much resistance.

The nation was divided over the issue of slavery, but the cotton gin made plantation slavery generate even more dollars and cents.

Harriet Beecher Stowe’s book, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, caused abolitionist sentiments to incense.

Militant abolitionist John Brown put his bullets where his mouth was and fought against slavery as he felt that it was the Christian thing to do.

After fighting in Kansas he embarked on a mission to cite slave insurrections among those of a darker hue.

He, his sons, and a few Black men raided the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry in Virginia and from this event the U.S. Civil War would ensue.

Harpers Ferry was initially taken by him and his men, but eventually he was overwhelmed and captured by marines under the command of then Colonel Robert E. Lee.

After his execution for treason, Frederick Douglas said, “John Brown was willing to die for his convictions and that makes him so much braver than me.”

John Brown understood that the slavery issue would keep factions on both sides in a state of constant enmity.

President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 freed slaves but what was his true drive?

Was it because he considered Blacks equal to him or was it a political move to further motivate the hive?

The hive that wore union blue uniforms that eventually beat those that wore gray in 1865.

Saying that the U.S. Civil War was fought to free Black slaves is one of the biggest lies ever told.

It was fought to return break-away southern states with all of their natural resources back into the fold.

The slavery issue was used as a cat’s paw so that Great Britain and France wouldn’t support the CSA (Confederate States of America) and that gamble was very, very bold.

Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19th every year since 1865 and is called “Freedom Day” by American Blacks.

On that day slavery was abolished in Texas and the overseer’s whip no longer cracked on black backs.

So in reality, upon closer review, the Emancipation Proclamation was ineffective when you compare the evidence stacks.

The South was a separate country for a time called the Confederate States of America, you see.

President Lincoln really had no jurisdiction over the people who owned Black slaves because as a separate nation they had sovereignty.

Don’t hear me wrong because the enemy of my enemy is a friend to me.

I just want to view the causes of the U.S. Civil war in proper context.

If I think for a minute that it was all about Black people I’d fall for any lie that would come next.

The truth is that Black were pawns in a political game and to think otherwise gets me vexed.

To be honest about Abe I’d say that he was a shrewd and practical in his decision-making.

He knew that reuniting the country was going to be a huge undertaking.

Even though dealing his race card would up the ante for his assassination and popularity he was forsaking.

These are three true stories of American history that may be somewhat bitter to swallow like lemons or limes.

But the truth has to be told because these are changing times.

I gave you more than my two cents as I gave you a shiny, new pair of dimes.

Organized, Distorted Doctrine

1 Aug

The title of this poem was inspired by the host of Occult Science Radio, Curtis “The Illuminated One” Davis. I hear him say that people do crazy things when following an organized, distorted doctrine. What a cool way to sum it up! So, his phrase inspired me to write a poem about how religion can be skewed to jusitfy economic and political interests.

I am not saying that any particular religion is bad. I’m just showing how it can be used at time to manipulate people and to justify certain behavior.

The “dark side” of religion is explored here. I hope that you enjoy this poem and commit to being a vanguard against those who use religion to justify the inhumane treatment and/or slaughter of other human beings.

This poem is a series of 32 haiku poems that are strung together in a series to tell a story. I call this style that I created a haiku chain poem. According to Dictionary.com, a haiku is a major form of Japanese verse, written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, and employing highly evocative allusions and comparisons, often on the subject of nature or one of the seasons; or a poem written in this form.

“Organized, Distorted Doctrine”

Religion alone
in not necessarily
a bad thing. Really.

What makes it bad at
times is how misguided or
evil men use it.

Judaism is
first. Christianity came
next. Then Islam, third.

This is not order
of preference, but it is

Unfair advantage,
jealousy and sheer contempt
and chauvinism.

All wrapped in greed, hate,
lust for power, control, and
White Supremacy.

The Chosen People.
This land is our land given
to us by Balfour.

Arabs, you have to go now.
We’re here now. That’s that.

The Torah says that
the land of Israel is
our inheritance.

That is what we say
and stand by. And so what we
are Thirteenth Tribe?

The Invention of
the Jewish People
blew the
whistle. Cover blown!

Once everyone learns
that this is political,
not spiritual – Well…

Everyone will know
the truth, but will the truth free
the land? We’ll see.

Accept HIM as your
lord and savior! He saves you
from yourself. Your sins.

We’re his disciples
on Earth. Saving souls in the
sweet name of Jesus.

He is merciful
to his flock, but if you’re not
of us, you are lost.

Abandon your ways.
There is only one way. If
not, death is certain.

Bow down and kneel at
the cross. Heretics will be
cast out, stoned, or burnt.

We look like GOD, so
listen to us. Obey. A
servant among us.

Without our ways
your soul is lost, but now it’s
found. Convert and live.

Sharia is the
law by which you should live. If
you do not, you’re damned.

Burning in the fire
of Hell for eternity.
Ask for forgiveness.

But you must whisper
your prayer in Arabic or
GOD may not answer.

We hold fast to the
laws of sharia even
though it set us back.

retarded our progress and
we lost our great lead.

We set off the spark
in Europe to ignite the
Renaissance. Lights on!

They were in the dark
ages. No rule of law. Pure
barbaric lifestyle.

What kind of god would
pick favorites above all
other nations? Huh?

Sanctioning wholesale
slaughter of innocent people
and seizure of land.

Is not it quite odd
that so-called holy people
do unholy things?

Hypocrites. Liars.
Imposters. Hate mongers and
male chauvinist pigs.

Strange ways, practices
and beliefs. O-D-D means
organized, distorted doctrine.
