The 5 Pillars of Ma’at

25 Jul

What inspired me to write this poem is that I’ve been seeing a lot of people that I know who have done dirt to others get paid back. It is interesting to see the universe keep balance.

What goes around comes back around.

If you’re a fair person, you’d like the way that sounds.

Oh yes, my friends, payback can be a mutha.

It can strike you down like no other.

The ancient people of Egypt had a goddess named Ma’at.

She knew who was being naughty and who was not.

She was a goddess – not like a goddess like being the creator or sustainer.

But she was the personification of a concept – sort of like select principles placed in a container.

Her husband was the god Tehuti, the wise scribe and judge.

If you want him waver on his ethics, forget it because he will never budge.

Like Ma’at, he is not THE GOD, or the creator or sustainer of the earth.

He is the symbol of wisdom and the transcriber of all of your actions beginning at birth.

“The battle is not mine. Vengeance is for the LORD.”

The universe is like a bank and every action is stored.

Do not let your heart be troubled. Live your life doing good works and serving your fellow man.

The mischief makers will get theirs. Ma’at will certainly open a can –

Of ‘Whoop Ass” because no one gets a pass.

I am not saying not to defend yourself as that is not intelligent.

If someone lays their hands on you, perhaps their soul is ready to be Heaven sent.

Some people deserve a RAW—righteous ass whipping, but do not be the aggressor.

The MOST HIGH doesn’t sanction that, as to initiate a fight is wrong will make you a transgressor.

Hmmm…Let’s see what knowledge I can pull from my magician’s hat.

Here we are: Righteousness; Truth; Justice; Balance; and Harmony.

These are 5 pillars of Ma’at.

You Are NOT Human

17 Jul

The poem below is a series of 13 haiku poems that tell one story. A haiku is a Japanese form of poetry that consists of three lines containing 5 syllables, 7 syllables, and 5 syllables respectively.

I call this series of haiku tied together a Haiku Chain Poem. Also, as is my signature in all of my poems, the last line contains the title of the poem.

This poem was inspired by the block-buster film, Avatar and my personal spiritual beliefs.

I hope that you like this poem.

You Are NOT Human!

You are of the same
Essence as the Creator
of Heaven and Earth

Your body is a
house for your immortal soul.
You are not human.

Being human is not an
acceptable excuse to
set small, boring goals.

An avatar is
the personification
of a deity.

Is it not written
that “Ye are gods”? Is
it not David’s psalm?

Mary-Mary has
a great, inspiring song.
“It’s the god in me”.

Michigan, Eerie,
and Ontario are lakes.
Superior, too.

Nile, Mississippi,
Tigris, and Euphrates are
all big, great rivers.

Caribbean, Red,
and Mediterranean
are all mighty seas.

Atlantic, Arctic,
Pacific and Indian
are all deep oceans.

GOD is a river.
GOD is a great lake a big
sea and an ocean.

Your body is a
cup. GOD’s spirit is water.
YOU have that spirit.

You’re an avatar
made in the image of GOD.
You are not human.

The Choice Is Your Own

6 Jul

This poem is a series of 15 haiku poems that are strung together in a series to tell a story. I call this style that I created a haiku chain poem. According to Dictionary.com, a haiku is a major form of Japanese verse, written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, and employing highly evocative allusions and comparisons, often on the subject of nature or one of the seasons; or a poem written in this form.

This poem talks about some of the holy texts, gods, and tenets for one of world’s major religions, Hinduism.

Our oldest scripture
is called the Rigveda. There
are three other texts.

The Yajurveda,
the Samaveda, and the
Atharvaveda.

Total freedom of
belief and worship is how
we practice our faith.

Monotheism?
Polytheism? Either
is tolerated.

Dharma is order,
law, harmony and all truth.
It comes from Brahman.

Brahman is supreme.
There are others like Vishnu,
Shiva and Shakti.

Sometimes the gods may
personify as humans.
They are avatars.

We define Karma
as the moral law of cause
and effect. Deeds. Thoughts.

The cycle: action;
reaction; birth; death; rebirth —
is called samsara.

Samsara provides
pleasure that encourages
reincarnation.

Know that Nirvana
is the ultimate goal of
life. Stop the cycle.

Kama means to wish,
passion, longing and pleasure
of enjoying life.

The enjoyment of
love, affection, sensual
things that may please you.

Love and devotion.
Right action. Meditation.
Wisdom. All yogas.

Yoga means a path.
You choose your path for your life.
The choice is your own.

When you want something
that desire may lead to
a crime of passion.

It is best to not
attach oneself to worldly
treasures or people.

When you are detached
you don’t love, hate, lust or feel
any regrets. None.

Life leads to some sort
of uneasiness one way
or another. Fact.

Live a simple life.
Don’t wear perfumes, jewelry
or even wearing make-up.

Be mindful of the
concept of karma as it
affects future lives.

To minimize the
suffering, be careful of
your actions today.

Your rebirth may be
that of a lower being.
Tied to your karma.

It is best to end
the cycle of rebirth to
achieve Nirvana.

Suffering ends when
craving ends. Eliminate
all the delusions.

Don’t invest a lot
in this world. It is painful.
Life is suffering.
